Dabeco: an up-to-date, faster and easier-to-find website
Dabeco's website has almost 540 pages, posts and events on WordPress with the Enfold theme. The job was to bring it up to date without changing the design, make it faster, make the practice easier to find in Google and in AI assistants, and get Google Ads to measure what matters.

Upgrade without a redesign
- WordPress, the Enfold theme, PHP and the plugins brought several major versions forward to the latest.
- Tried first on a local copy in Docker, where all 539 addresses were checked for errors.
- Rolled out in six steps with a backup and a check between each, then compared with screenshots from before.
Speed
- A page cache that answers in 0.04–0.07 s instead of 0.55–0.75 s.
- WebP versions of 4,011 images, and images in the size they're shown at.
- The front page loads 11 stylesheets instead of 81 and 18 scripts instead of 70, and images further down load only when they're needed.
- Speed scores of 91–96 on the four pages tested, and the front page layout no longer jumps (CLS 0.145 → 0).
Google and Search Console
- Search Console verified for the domain, the sitemap read with every page, and no manual actions or security issues.
- One H1 per page and event, no duplicate titles, and descriptions on the pages that lacked them.
- 183 images got a description, and 103 titles and 54 descriptions were shortened so Google shows them in full.
- A location on all 252 events in the structured data, and Bing is told through IndexNow whenever something changes.
Visibility in AI assistants
- Structured data about the clinic and its 7 therapists, passing Google's test with no errors.
- An llms.txt and llms-full.txt, generated from the pages, that keep themselves up to date.
- A measurement of what AI assistants answer about the practice, as the baseline for follow-up.
Google Ads
- Ad tracking behind cookie consent, measuring calls, e-mails, contact forms and newsletter sign-ups.
- The account built as six search campaigns with negative keywords and conversions that match real enquiries.
- Search Console linked to Google Ads, and the account's optimisation score from 89.2% to 100%.
- The first follow-up on searches and ads is in November 2026.
Accessibility, privacy and security
- Colour contrast to WCAG AA, and headings in the right order on all 535 pages tested.
- Third-party content and ad tracking sit behind cookie consent, and the fonts are hosted on the site itself.
- A hardened WordPress set-up with security headers and fewer plugins.
How I worked: every change was made in git and reviewed in a pull request, tried on the copy and checked on the real site afterwards. The copy can't send e-mail or fetch anything from outside, and search engines are kept out of it.
